Duke Energy Florida Hosts Neighborhood Energy Saver Program in Clearwater

Last night, Duke Energy Florida hosted its Neighborhood Energy Saver Program in Clearwater. While over 2,200 local customers are eligible to participate, approximately 75 attended the event, held at the Ross Norton Recreation Center, to learn how they can receive a free walkthrough energy assessment of their homes and help lower their monthly electricity bills.

“Our Neighborhood Energy Saver program is just one of the many resources we offer to help connect customers with ways to lower their energy bill,” said Melissa Seixas, president, Duke Energy Florida. “By bringing our team and the community together, we’re able to get more support in the hands of customers in need as we head into the summer.”

Neighborhood Energy Saver benefits

Eligible customers will also qualify to receive up to 20 energy-saving improvements at no cost, resulting in many energy efficient benefits including:

  • Insulation upgrade
     
  • Sealing air-conditioning ducts
     
  • Basic air-conditioning maintenance
     
  • Smart thermostats
     
  • Energy efficient lightbulbs
     
  • One year supply, air-conditioning filters
     
  • Energy saving showerheads
     
  • Water saving kitchen and bathroom aerators

The program is available to residential customers, both homeowners and renters, living in communities identified by Duke Energy Florida using federal and state guidelines and census data.
