VyStar Foundation is committed to honoring and supporting the brave individuals who have served our country. We are proud to open our annual Military Grant Cycle, which provides funding to nonprofit organizations dedicated to improving the lives of active-duty military, veterans, and their families.
This year we are prioritizing programs that address critical challenges such as food and housing insecurity, employment opportunities, small business support and access to mental health services. By investing in these areas, we aim to create lasting, positive change for those who have given so much to our nation.
“At VyStar Foundation, we are dedicated to empowering those who have served our country by supporting initiatives that address their most pressing needs,” said VyStar Foundation President Patricia McElroy. “We aim to provide comprehensive support that truly makes a difference in the lives of our military members and veterans. Our commitment is to ensure that these heroes and their families receive the resources and services they deserve.”
The Foundation will award grants up to $20,000 from eligible nonprofit organizations and will fund a total of $200,000. The final number and amount will be determined by the Board of Directors based on the quality and impact of applications received.
To help organizations navigate the application process VyStar Foundation will host virtual grant information sessions on the following dates:
- Thursday, March 6 – 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
- Wednesday, March 12 – 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
- Tuesday, March 18 – 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

VyStar Foundation is dedicated to doing good and leading by example through collaborative partnerships that support military members and veterans, youth, and overall community vitality in the areas served by VyStar Credit Union. In 2024, the Foundation distributed more than $390,000 in grants to 22 local organizations, addressing the critical needs of youth and military families.
