Flashlight Safari Uncovers Halloween’s Wildest Mysteries At The Central Florida Zoo

This Halloween season, curious explorers are invited to grab a flashlight and venture into the darkness during Flashlight Safari: “Myths, Mysteries, and Monsters” at the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens.

This special Halloween-themed Flashlight Safari will take a closer look at the world of cryptozoology — the study of creatures whose existence is rumored but unproven. From skunk apes to sirens, guests will hear the stories, examine the evidence and decide for themselves: Are they real, or just myths?

Up-close animal encounters will also offer a chance to replace fear with fascination as guests learn more about some of nature’s most misunderstood nighttime creatures.



The approximately two-hour experience is designed for families, but due to the late-night setting and some slightly spooky stories, participants must be at least 10 years old for the Oct. 3 event.

Flashlight Safari is $26 for Annual Pass Holder adults and $20 for children ages 10–12, and $32 for non-pass holder adults and $25 for children ages 10–12. Check-in begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Discovery Center. Advance registration and payment are required, and space is limited.
