From Kitchen to Community: Senior Chef Showdown Stirs Up Support for Brain Health

MAITLAND, FL – August, 13, 2024 -- The second annual Senior Chef Showdown, a unique culinary competition and fundraising event benefiting brain health, is set to take place on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Venue on Lake Lily in Maitland, FL. This year's event promises to be bigger and better, featuring an expanded lineup of chefs from senior living communities competing for the coveted Senior Cup all while raising funds for brain fitness programs.
Beau Herman, founder of the Senior Chef Showdown and owner of Assisted Living Locators Northeast Orlando, expressed his excitement about the event's growth: "We're thrilled to build on last year's success and create an even more impactful event. By moving to The Venue on Lake Lily, we can accommodate 400 attendees and showcase the culinary talents of 10 senior living community chefs. It's a fantastic opportunity to support brain health while enjoying an unforgettable culinary experience."
Attendees will have the opportunity to taste dishes from all 10 participating senior living communities, vote for their favorite chef, and enjoy two complimentary drinks, choosing from a selection of wines curated by Tim's Wine Market or beer. The event will also feature live music, an auction, a 50/50 drawing, and a celebrity guest judge.
This year, the Senior Chef Showdown has obtained 501(c)(3) status and will benefit three chapters of The Brain Fitness Academy, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting cognitive health in seniors.
Tickets for the event are priced at $45 and will be available for purchase once the 501(c)(3) approval is finalized. Sponsorship opportunities are also available for businesses looking to support this worthy cause.
