AirBoss Hangars Breaks Ground on New State-of-the-Art Facility at Orlando Sanford International Airport

SANFORD, Fla. — November 25, 2025 — After a much-anticipated wait, AirBoss Hangars has officially broken ground on a new state-of-the-art hangar facility at Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB). This milestone marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in Central Florida’s aviation landscape and represents the first of many development projects planned by the AirBoss team and its partners.

“We’re extremely proud to be breaking ground on this incredible project,” said Brian Smith, spokesperson for AirBoss Hangars. “We want to thank the staff at the Sanford Airport Authority (SAA) for their trust in AirBoss and for helping see this project through to fruition. We’re hopeful this is just the beginning of many exciting developments for our team and our partners here at Sanford.”

Partnerships Driving Progress
AirBoss expressed deep appreciation to all of the partners who helped turn the vision into reality. The Sanford Building Department was recognized for its efficiency and collaboration throughout plan review and site development permitting.

AirBoss also acknowledged its construction and design partners, Riken Construction & Design, whose creative approach to design and cost management—combined with their expertise in value engineering—helped deliver an accelerated schedule. Working closely with Studio1+ (Project Architect) and KPM Franklin (Civil Engineers), Riken successfully fast-tracked design, plan review, and inspections, allowing the project to break ground in near-record time.

The new AirBoss Hangars facility is expected to be completed by Spring 2026, adding modern capacity to one of Florida’s fastest-growing airports.

Aviation Expansion Nationwide
This project is made possible through the support of AirBoss’ partners. Their investment enables AirBoss to continue expanding MRO and Corporate Air Park development across the United States. Active projects are already underway in Mobile, Alabama, and Tallahassee, Florida, with several more in lease negotiations.

AirBoss’s entry into aviation development originated from the company’s search for hangar space to accommodate its growing aircraft fleet. Discovering limited, outdated, and undersized options in the market, the AirBoss team identified a growing demand for modern hangar infrastructure—especially as today’s aircraft continue to increase in size and sophistication.

Now, AirBoss is meeting that demand head-on by building long-term partnerships with FBOs, private operators, municipalities, public entities, and major MRO facilities supporting commercial airlines, Department of Defense contractors, and large-scale aviation vendors.

“There’s an undeniable need for new, high-quality hangar space across the country,” Smith added. “Our mission is to help solve that—one project at a time—by delivering facilities that are designed for performance, efficiency, and longevity.”
