Habitat for Humanity Seminole–Apopka Hosts Home Dedication Ceremony Celebrating New Beginnings for Two Local Families

Habitat for Humanity Seminole–Apopka hosted a special Home Dedication Ceremony to celebrate the completion of two new affordable homes for two local families. The ceremony brought together Habitat leadership, community partners, elected officials, volunteers, and supporters to mark the moment these families received the keys to their new homes signifying stability, opportunity, and a brighter future.

Habitat CEO, Penny Seater welcomed community leaders and guests and emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships in addressing affordable housing in Central Florida before introducing Orange County Mayor, Jerry Demings, who congratulated the new homebuyers and stressed the importance of affordable housing solutions. The program also featured homeowner interviews, a prayer and blessing by Apostle Reno Johnson, congratulatory remarks from Florida Senator Rick Scott’s office, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Guests concluded the celebration by touring the newly completed homes, marking a transformational milestone for the families and the community.

This milestone represents the culmination of months of corporate, faith based, and community build days, demonstrating how collaboration, service, and grassroots investment can expand access to safe, affordable housing across Central Florida. The home was built through the generosity of local partners and the dedication of volunteers committed to strengthening their community.

“Home dedications are the heart of our mission,” said Penny Seater, CEO of Habitat for Humanity Seminole–Apopka. “They stand as a powerful reminder that when the community comes together, businesses, faith groups, volunteers, and families, we can break down barriers to homeownership and create lasting change.”

Access to affordable housing remains a significant challenge for many families in the region. Habitat for Humanity Seminole–Apopka partners with donors, sponsors, and community members to address this challenge one home at a time. The dedication ceremony offers compelling visual and storytelling opportunities as two families step into their new homes, surrounded by the volunteers and partners who made it possible.
