Hope, Healing & Magic in Every Mile: Disney Supports Blood Cancer United

At the 2026 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, Disney cast member and blood cancer survivor Nikki celebrated her recovery while her mom ran her first-ever runDisney 10K in support of her daughter and Blood Cancer United.

🏰 Disney's Commitment to Cast and Workplace Wellness

Nikki was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia and underwent intensive chemotherapy followed by a full stem cell transplant. Now two years in remission, she is living her dream: creating magic as a Walt Disney World cast member.

As a leader in workplace wellness, Disney is committed to supporting cast members like Nikki by providing a variety of resources to help with well-being and growth.

By Nikki’s side every step of the way has been her mom Sharon. She laced up for her first-ever runDisney 10K to show support for her daughter, families impacted by cancer and the weekend’s celebrated charity: Blood Cancer United.

“Being able to support and honor my daughter by running the Walt Disney World 10K meant everything to me. It was a way to thank everyone who helped get us here and to carry those families with us,” Sharon said

❤️ How does runDisney support Blood Cancer United?

Every race weekend, runDisney celebrates a charity that’s making a difference in Florida and beyond. Blood Cancer United was the celebrated charity for this race weekend. The nonprofit has teamed up with runDisney for more than 30 years, raising more than $96 million to support research and patients.

“That fundraising leads to new treatments and options for people like me," Nikki said. "Runners supporting this cause are giving us hope and second chances."
