POWER OUTAGES: Since Wednesday night, Seminole County has had over 80,000 power outages with reports of downed trees and gusts of wind at speeds of 89 miles per hour. This morning, there were over 115 traffic signals down across the County, with roads closed due to downed trees. Crews have been out since mid-morning restoring power and clearing roadways. Residents are asked to stay off the roads, if possible. Those without power are advised to turn off as many appliances and electronics as possible, and don't open freezers and refrigerators any more than necessary to keep the cool inside. Never operate a generator indoors.

FLOODING: Seminole County had 13 inches of rainfall since yesterday morning, forcing Little Wekiva to major flood stage. St John’s River and lakes are expected to rise. Find resources and hydrographs at PrepareSeminole.org. Do not drive or walk through flood water. Floodwater can be dangerous and make you vulnerable to infectious diseases, chemical hazards, and injuries.

GARBAGE AND DEBRIS COLLECTION: The County Landfill and Central Transfer Station will be closed on Friday, October 11, with no collections. Both locations will reopen on Saturday, October 12 through the weekend. Regular GARBAGE collection services will resume on Monday, October 14. Please be patient for pick-ups.

DAMAGE ASSESSMENT: Roads and stormwater crews are out doing damage assessment to determine where cleanup efforts will be focused. Residents are encouraged to report property damage that occurred during the storm. Complete the form in the Damage Assessment section at PrepareSeminole.org. These reports help us understand were the damage to help ensure FEMA funding.

SHELTERS: Public shelters are open throughout Seminole County. Find a list at PrepareSeminole.org.
