Knowledge Saves Lives: Learn the Signs and Symptoms of Ovarian Cancer

Did you know there is no early screening test for ovarian cancer - the PAP does NOT test for it? That is why education and awareness are so important.

Ovarian cancer is often called the "whispering disease" because its symptoms can be subtle and are frequently mistaken for everyday health concerns. Knowing what to look for and listening to your body can make all the difference.

✨ Know the symptoms:
• Bloating
• Pelvic or abdominal pain
• Difficulty eating or feeling full quickly
• Urinary urgency or frequency
• Back pain
• Fatigue
• Persistent heartburn or indigestion
• Constipation or other changes in bowel habits

If these symptoms are new, happen almost daily, and last for more than two weeks, it is important to talk with your healthcare provider.

As the Southeast Regional Manager for the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, I am passionate about bringing education, awareness, and support to our community. Through educational programs, survivor and caregiver peer-to-peer support groups, community outreach, and awareness events, we are working together to ensure that more women recognize the signs and seek medical attention sooner.

💙 You can help make a difference by:
🩵 Learning the symptoms
🩵 Sharing this information with your family and friends
🩵 Inviting us to speak at your business, organization, church, or community group
🩵 Supporting local awareness events and educational programs

Education is one of the most powerful tools we have. By starting conversations and sharing knowledge, we can help save lives and give hope to those affected by ovarian cancer.

Together, we can create a community where more women know the signs, seek care earlier, and never face ovarian cancer alone.
