Meta has released a version of its Muse AI assistant built for small businesses, with connections to QuickBooks, Shopify and other everyday software. For local owners, the lesson is that useful AI now arrives inside the systems they already run, which makes choosing the right task the real first step.
On September 29, Meta announced Muse for Small Business, an adaptation of its Muse AI assistant designed to help owners analyze sales, manage cash flow and inventory, draft customer communications and create ads. The assistant connects to software many small businesses already depend on, including QuickBooks, Shopify, Stripe, Canva and Slack. Meta offers a free tier along with paid plans at $20 and $100 per month, and the company says Muse will not post content, send messages or make purchases without the owner's approval.
For business owners, the more useful lesson is where AI now lives. It is showing up inside the accounting and payment software that teams open every day. That means the first step is choosing one repetitive task worth handing off, such as a weekly sales summary, a first draft of a customer reply or a monthly inventory check. Learning every new AI product is unnecessary to get there.
Across Central Florida, the small and mid-sized businesses seeing results with AI follow that same pattern. They pick a process that eats hours each week, such as compiling reports or answering routine inquiries, and apply AI to that one step inside the tools they already use. In practice, work that once took several hours can often be reduced to minutes.
Those businesses treat AI as an operational improvement with a clear owner and a clear measure of success. They start with a specific business problem, test a targeted fix and keep human review in place for anything that reaches a customer. Muse requiring owner approval before it acts is a good reminder that this kind of oversight belongs in every AI workflow, whatever the tool.
