The Orlando Magic’s 35th annual OMYF Open golf tournament held on December 8 at the Reunion Resort & Golf Club, raised $225,000 for the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation (OMYF), benefiting at-risk children in Central Florida.
"It's fantastic to be out here and remember what the reason for the season is," said Magic Managing Director Ryan DeVos. "It's how can we best support those in need. The OMYF does an incredible job. It's a great organization that helps us continue to assist the youth of Central Florida."
Following a competitive round on the links, the sold-out fundraising event featured 240 golf participants, talent and celebrities. The event featured a one-of-a-kind shopping experience at the on-site Magic golf shop and an exclusive happy hour.
"For me and a lot of (the DeVos) family members, it's a must-attend event," said Magic Business Management Associate Cole DeVos. "Obviously, the golf is a great time, but more importantly (it's about) being able to support the kids of Central Florida and being able to make a big impact in the community."
The Magic have granted more than $31 million over the past 35 years to local nonprofit community organizations through the OMYF. The team announced in August that it will distribute a total of $1.6 million through the OMYF this season.
"Every bit helps in this community," said Magic President of Business Operations Charlie Freeman. "Again, the DeVos family and the Magic, (we're always looking to do what) we can do to help. We've given over $31 million over the last 35 years. We appreciate the community coming forth and allowing us to do that. This year, we will give $1.6 million to the youth of Central Florida. A big thanks to our partners, who are here (at the OMYF Open) to help us do that."
Each year, the Magic gives more than $2.5 million to Central Florida by way of sponsorships of events, donated tickets, autographed merchandise and grants. At the heart of the Magic’s charitable efforts is the work done by the OMYF.
The OMYF is committed to helping children in Central Florida realize their full potential, especially those most at-risk, by supporting nonprofit organizations offering youth-based programs in the areas of education, housing/homelessness, the arts, and health and wellness programs. The OMYF raises community dollars annually through donations, auctions and events such as the OMYF Open Golf Tournament and the Orlando Wine Festival & Auction.
The Orlando Wine Festival and Auction, the signature fundraiser for the OMYF since 2019, will be held February 27 - March 1, 2026. The weekend of events features exclusive vintner dinners on Feb. 27 around Central Florida, an outdoor festival at the Four Seasons Resort Orlando on Feb. 28 with live music, live auction displays, an e-auction, local and celebrity chefs, wineries, and food pavilions, along with Magic players and coaches. Each guest will also receive an invitation to the OMYF Grantee Pregame Reception on March 1, 2026 to honor and celebrate the Magic’s new grantees before the Magic host the Detroit Pistons.
