Opera Orlando announces a star-studded cast for the Pulitzer Prize-winning opera Silent Night, on stage at Steinmetz Hall February 6 and 8. This original production features a stellar cast led by international soprano and Orlando native Julia Radosz as Anna Sørensen, Grammy Award-winner and Opera Orlando general director Gabriel Preisser as Lt. Audebert, who also originated the role of Lt. Gordon in the world premiere at Minnesota Opera, and introduces Orlando audiences to tenor Brendan J. Boyle as Nikolaus Sprink.
“I am elated that we have so many returning artists in this cast,” shares Opera Orlando artistic director Grant Preisser, who is also stage director for this new production. “With this being our 10th Anniversary season, having the opportunity to once again feature familiar voices feels particularly celebratory, along with telling a story that highlights the humanity which unites us all.”
Having appeared as Donna Elvira in Opera Orlando’s 2017 Don Giovanni, soprano Julia Radosz (Anna Sørensen) is returning to the Company and her hometown. An alumnae of Trinity Preparatory School in Winter Park, FL, Ms. Radosz now resides in Bratislava with her husband, while maintaining a home in Orlando. Recent engagements include Musetta in La Bohème across Spain and France and Mimì in La Bohème with First Coast Opera. Previous engagements include Antonia in The Tales of Hoffman with Tri-Cities Opera, Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream with Opera Naples, and Donna Anna in Don Giovanni with Cape Cod Opera.
Opera Orlando’s general director, baritone Gabriel Preisser (Lt. Audebert) recently made his Lincoln Center debut as the bass soloist in Handel’s Messiah with the National Chorale. His extensive performance resume includes the Father in Hansel & Gretel with Utah Opera, the title
role in Sweeney Todd with Helena Symphony, and Figaro in The Barber of Seville and The Marriage of Figaro with multiple companies. Mr. Preisser has been at the helm of Opera
Orlando since the Company began ten years ago.
Tenor Brendan J. Boyle (Nikolaus Sprink) is returning to Orlando to make his Company debut in Silent Night after appearing in Opera Orlando’s 2025 Summer Concert Series. Based in Topeka, KS, Mr. Boyle previously appeared as the Prince in Rusalka with Wichita Grand Opera, Cavaradossi in Tosca with Toledo Opera, and Don Jose in Carmen with Gulfshore Opera and Toledo Opera. Future engagements include Alexander Simpson in The Sheltering Tree with Hawaii Opera.
Rounding out the 42-member cast is baritone and fellow Grammy Award-winner Andrew Craig Brown as Lt. Horstmayer, tenor Alex Mansoori as Kronprinz, tenor Elijah William Brown as Jonathan Dale, 2025-26 Opera Orlando Studio Artist baritone Logan Tarwater as William Dale, bass Richard Crawley as Father Palmer, baritone Tony Potts as Lt.
