Orlando Sanford International Airport Maintains Uninterrupted Operations and an Efficient Passenger Experience

Sanford, FL — Tuesday, March 24, 2026 — In response to recent national media coverage regarding staffing support at security checkpoints at select U.S. airports, Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) is confirming its continued commitment to providing a safe, efficient, and passenger-friendly travel experience.

Orlando Sanford International Airport participates in the Transportation Security Administration’s Screening Partnership Program, under which passenger screening is conducted by a private contractor operating under TSA’s oversight and in full compliance with federal security standards.  SFB values its strong partnership with TSA and is grateful for the opportunity to participate in this program, which supports both operational efficiency and the highest standards of security.

As a participant in the Screening Partnership Program, SFB’s passenger screening operations have continued without interruption, including during the recent federal government shutdown.  Passengers continue to experience efficient processing from curb to gate, with no changes to standard screening procedures.

SFB also extends its appreciation to the TSA personnel assigned to the airport who continue to report to duty and provide critical federal oversight of the screening operations.  Their dedication and professionalism play a vital role in ensuring the safety, security, and consistency of the passenger screening process.

At this time, Orlando Sanford International Airport has not been identified as an airport requiring supplemental federal staffing support, and airport officials do not anticipate any changes to current screening or security procedures. Due to SFB’s participation in the Screening Partnership Program, the airport does not expect to be selected for supplemental support from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Travelers can continue to expect a smooth and predictable experience. Average security wait times remain under 10 minutes, reinforcing Orlando Sanford International Airport’s reputation as a convenient and less congested alternative for travel to and from the Central Florida region.

“Our focus is always on the passenger experience,” said Nicole Martz, President and CEO. “Through our participation in the TSA Screening Partnership Program and our efficient terminal operations, SFB offers travelers a simpler and faster option without compromising safety.”
