The Orlando Magic Youth Foundation’s signature fundraising event, the Orlando Wine Festival & Auction held on Feb. 28 at the Four Seasons Resort Orlando, raised $2+ million for the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation (OMYF), benefiting at-risk children in Central Florida.
This was the first time the Orlando Wine Festival & Auction raised more than $2 million. The sold-out fundraising extravaganza in its sixth year included live and e-auctions, as well as an outdoor festival, featuring live music, local and celebrity chefs, wineries, and food pavilions.
The Magic players, coaches and DeVos family members were all in attendance at the Orlando Wine Festival & Auction to help create awareness on the needs in the community and the work the OMYF does each year.
“The family involvement is why my father started this (and) what he was all about,” Magic Chairman Dan DeVos said. “He wanted a place where the family could get together, be together, have fun together and work together. This grabs everything into one, and then you add onto it the ability to get involved with the community to try and make a difference in different ways. And with the third generation coming out and all those different aspects, it’s been very rewarding for us."
In August 2025, the OMYF announced it will distribute grants totaling $1.6 million in five ways – a summer grant cycle, a winter grant cycle, microgrants, the Linda Landman Gonzalez Leadership Grant (LLG) and through professional development for grantees. Thus far, the summer grant cycle, winter grant cycle, leadership grants and a portion microgrants have been distributed (microgrants are distributed quarterly). This marks the 18th time the OMYF has distributed at least $1 million to the Central Florida community since OMYF's inception in 1990.
The DeVos family recently showcased their ongoing commitment to the OMYF through a $400,000 pledge which encompassed all family stakeholders, including the third generation who are increasingly involved in the franchise. The gift underwrites a significant portion of the foundation’s operational expenses, helping ensure that as much of the funding raised as possible directly supports the children who benefit from its support.
Over the last 36 years, more than $31 million has been distributed to local nonprofit community organizations through the Magic’s foundation. The OMYF raises community dollars annually through donations, auctions and events such as the OMYF Open Golf Tournament and the Orlando Wine Festival and Auction, which debuted in 2019 and features a wine and food festival and a live and e-auction. The event culminated with the Magic game at Kia Center on March 1 against the Detroit Pistons. The weekend of fundraising events also included exclusive vintner dinners on Feb. 27, with the outdoor festival on Feb. 28 at the Four Seasons Resort Orlando.
“Our team has embraced it,” Magic Vice Chair/Alternate Governor Alex Martins said. “We have so many great people working on this all year long. It is rewarding for the organization (and) it’s rewarding for the children we impact. Our goal was to take what was a great event in the Black Tie and Tennies Gala that we held for over 15 years, probably closer to 20 — and we raised a nice amount of money, $300,000, $400,000 to distribute every year — but we felt like we could do more. And this event has done that and it’s because of the hard work of our team, all the employees of the Magic and our Orlando Magic Youth Foundation staff. But it’s really gratifying to see that last year we had the ability to distribute (raise) $2 million.”
