The Sanford City Commission, on March 17, 2025, voted unanimously to select the Orlando firm of de Beaubien Simmons Knight Mantzaris & Neal LLP (DSK Law) to serve in the position of City Attorney. The selection was made after reviewing proposals from eight firms and interviewing the top five.
Attorney Lindsay N. Greene of DSK Law will serve as the designated City Attorney and will be backed by Attorneys Daniel Mantzaris and John Morgeson, Jr. Ms. Greene is a graduate of Cornell University, receiving her Bachelor of Science in 1995, thereafter earning a Juris Doctorate degree in 1999 from the Florida State University College of Law.
“The commission was impressed with all of the firms interviewed, but Ms. Greene’s enthusiasm and ability to focus her time on the City’s legal needs, with support from the entire DSK Law firm, was a deciding factor in the decision,” said Mayor Art Woodruff.
In addition to being engaged in providing other legal services, Ms. Greene is currently Assistant-City Attorney for the City of St. Cloud and serves as the Special Magistrate for Code Enforcement for the City of Belle Isle. She is a resident of the City of Sanford and previously served on the City’s Planning and Zoning Commission.
In addition to its Orlando office, DSK Law maintains offices in Melbourne, Tallahassee and Tampa. DSK Law will assume City Attorney duties at the May 12, 2025 City Commission meeting. Ms. Greene and DSK Law will replace William Colbert of Stenstrom, McIntosh, Colbert & Whigham P.A. who has served as City Attorney since 1981. Mr. Colbert plans to retire at the end of May.
