SCPS Names Top Twelve Semi-Finalists for Teacher of the Year

SANFORD, FL — Seminole County Public Schools (SCPS) is proud to recognize 12 outstanding educators selected as semi-finalists for the 2028 SCPS Teacher of the Year. Representing schools across the district, these educators demonstrate the excellence, dedication and passion for student success that define SCPS.

Each finalist was first recognized as Teacher of the Year at their respective school before advancing to the district level. In December, SCPS will announce three finalists representing the elementary, middle and high school levels.

“These twelve finalists exemplify the extraordinary talent and commitment found throughout our district," said Superintendent Serita D. Beamon. "Their ability to engage and empower students helps create learning environments where every child can thrive. We are grateful for their leadership and the profound influence they have on the future of our community."

The 2028 SCPS Teacher of the Year will be announced during the district’s annual Teacher of the Year Celebration on January 22, 2027. The district winner will then represent SCPS in the Florida Teacher of the Year program.
