SANFORD, FL – June 26, 2026 – Second Foundation AI, a member of the Seminole County Chamber, officially announces the formation of The AI Council, a new 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. This initiative is designed to serve as a regional economic development engine dedicated to accelerating AI-driven growth across the county and the Lake Mary corridor.

Brett Patterson, Founder and CEO of Second Foundation AI, observed a significant gap in the local business community regarding the knowledge and practical adoption of artificial intelligence. While business owners recognize the importance of AI, many lack access to the expertise required to implement it effectively.

Second Foundation AI is spinning out this initiative into a new, independent non-profit because the company's leadership is passionate about helping the local community drive economic growth through innovation. By establishing The AI Council, we seek to support local businesses, students graduating into a new AI workplace, and encourage new startups  in navigating the AI transformation.

The AI Council, born from this vision, serves as a catalyst for technological leadership by bridging the gap between local businesses and AI expertise.

The AI Council operates through three core workstreams designed to produce measurable economic impact:

• Job Creation: Facilitating the creation of new startups and new roles such as automation specialists and prompt engineers via AI readiness assessments and AI expertise matching.
• Business Growth: Modernizing small-to-medium business (SMB) operations through knowledge sharing, industry-specific practical toolkits, and pilot projects that demonstrate return on investment.
• Student Transition: Establishing formal internship pipelines and mentorship programs between academic institutions, such as Seminole State College and UCF, and regional employers to ensure a seamless entry into the AI-driven workforce.

As a cross-sector leadership platform, The AI Council is committed to ensuring that Seminole County remains at the forefront of responsible and practical AI adoption.
