Seminole County Chamber Earns a Five-Star Accreditation!

Five years ago, the Seminole County Chamber first received an accreditation by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. 

It was not an easy accomplishment, but since then, our chamber team, staff and board have worked hard to enhance and grow our chamber. That has paid off!

This week, the Seminole County Chamber learned it is now one of just ten chambers in Florida to be officially recognized as a five-star chamber of commerce! 

Out of the more than 7,000 chambers nationwide, only 147 are five-star chambers. 

During the process, the U.S. Chamber looked at all aspects of our chamber, from our financial stability to marketing goals and from the programs we provide our members to the technology we use to conduct daily business. All told, there were nine broad categories it used to measure how our chamber performs.

With the accreditation, our members are assured their investment in the Seminole County Chamber is being managed with the highest level of professionalism and standards in the chamber industry.

The chamber has worked on this accreditation for more than a year, and many of our members participated in the process. We can't thank everyone who participated in this process enough.

Here are just a few of the things the U.S. Chamber listed in its report:

• The chamber has fostered an environment that encourages board discussion of new and innovative ideas.
• It does an excellent job recognizing the work of its volunteers.
• The chamber has developed a useful Brand Guidelines and Usage manual.
• It utilizes a variety of communication tools and tactics to reach members and the community.
• The chamber is noted for its Legislative Update and State of the County programs
• The chamber achieved a perfect score in the Governance and Facilities sections.
