Small Businesses Are No Longer Experimenting With AI

A LinkedIn report drawing on data from 160 million professionals across more than 18 million small businesses identifies 2026 as a turning point for small business AI adoption.
57 percent of small businesses already use AI in some form and believe it will improve their daily work lives. Half of U.S. small businesses said the rise of AI inspired them to explore entrepreneurship as a path they had not previously considered. The report recorded a 69 percent increase in people adding the title of founder to their LinkedIn profiles.
The report also identifies AI literacy, not AI adoption, as the emerging competitive edge for small businesses. Upskilling teams is now the differentiator.
Small businesses make up over 90 percent of all businesses and employ half the global workforce. Business leaders in the report believe AI gives them the ability to compete with larger organizations in ways that were not previously available to them.
For Central Florida businesses, the conversation has matured. The question is no longer whether to use AI. It is knowing where to start and how to make it work inside your specific operation.
