The Law Firm of Charles Vega P.A. Sponsors Free Personal Safety Workshop for Local Women and Children Ages 9 to 91

In a meaningful act of community support and local investment, The Law Firm of Charles Vega P.A. is sponsoring a free, hands-on personal safety workshop aimed at empowering local residents with practical skills to stay safe.

The Simple Self Defense for Women® Workshop will take place on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at 3431 S. Ridgewood Ave., Port Orange, FL. Designed for women and children ages 9 to 91, this interactive event offers a fresh, accessible approach to personal safety. Unlike traditional martial arts classes, the program involves no punching, no kicking, and no strenuous physical exertion. Instead, participants will learn simple, highly effective strategies to Prevent, Avoid, and Escape Potential Attacks, Threats, or Abductions.

"Empowering our community members with real-world tools to protect themselves and their families is one of the most impactful acts of kindness we can offer," said Charles Vega of The Law Firm of Charles Vega P.A. "We are honored to sponsor this program so that cost is never a barrier to personal safety."

In addition to safety instruction, the event serves as a donation drive. Optional donations of socks, blankets, children’s clothing, gas cards, gift cards (Walmart/Target), or monetary contributions will be collected to support the Domestic Abuse Council (DAC), with assistance and support from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.

Admission is 100% FREE to the public thanks to the generous sponsorship of The Law Firm of Charles Vega P.A. However, due to space constraints, seating is strictly limited to 75 participants. Early registration is strongly encouraged.
