Vicky Countess Coaching Founder Shares What She Wishes She’d Known at 45 About Bone Health

“The Number on Your Report Is a Data Point, Not Your Destiny” — Vicky Countess Offers a Personal Perspective on What a Low Bone Density Diagnosis Really Means

SEMINOLE COUNTY, FL — June 24, 2026 — Vicky Countess, founder of Vicky Countess Coaching, is sharing a message she wishes someone had delivered to her two decades ago: a low bone density diagnosis is a warning light, not a life sentence — and there is far more a woman can do about it than most doctors ever have time to explain.

When Countess was diagnosed with low bone density at age 45, she did what most women do: she filled the prescription, took the pill, and trusted that someone smarter had it handled. She was in the thick of raising three sons and didn’t have time to question anything.

“What I know now is that diagnosis was a signal that my body needed real attention — not just a pill,” said Countess. “I just didn’t know that yet. And nobody sat down to explain what I could actually do about it.”
That experience — and the years of research, coursework, and clinical consultation that followed — is the foundation of the work she now does with clients every day. Countess helps women move beyond the fear and confusion of a diagnosis toward a proactive, personalized plan.

What She’d Tell Her 45-Year-Old Self
Reflecting on her own journey, Countess offers three things she wishes she had understood from the beginning:
The number on your report is a data point, not your destiny. Beyond any prescription, there is a great deal more that can be done to support and improve bone health.
Stop looking for the universal answer. The calcium protocol a friend swears by, the supplement a sister recommends, the article promising one food will rebuild bones naturally — that information isn’t necessarily wrong, but it isn’t necessarily about you. Without understanding the full picture of your own health, it is little more than guessing.
You are not destined to keep declining just because you are getting older. That belief felt true for a long time. It isn’t.
“There is so much more to this than most of us are ever told,” said Countess. “That is exactly what I wish someone had sat down and explained to me at 45 — and it is what I am committed to explaining to women now.”
