Your Chamber Successfully Advocates for You

Last week, the Central Florida Expressway Authority voted unanimously to move forward on an extension of State Road 417 to the Orlando Sanford International Airport.

This road is essential to the economic future of Seminole County, easing congestion and allowing for quicker access to the commercial areas around the airport.

More than two years ago, the Seminole County Chamber board of directors voted to support this connection and we have been advocating for this road ever since.

This week, Chamber President & CEO Rebekah Arthur spoke at the Expressway Authority's board meeting, stressing the importance of this connection.

"The businesses that use the airport, or are around the airport, know this road can not come soon enough," she told the board. "The traffic around the airport continues to build and become more and more congested. Every minute an employee, a store's stock, a realtor, or a restaurant's daily supplies sit in traffic is time that is not being productive."
