About Us:
Armor Up Recovery Homes and Ministries is a faith-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Longwood, FL, providing transitional sober living homes for women recovering from addiction, trauma, homelessness, and human trafficking. We currently operate two recovery homes — Freedom House and Victory House — serving 14 women at a time, and we're working toward opening a third home, Redemption House, to meet the growing need in our community.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and mission-driven volunteer Grant Writer to help secure funding that sustains our current programs and fuels our expansion. This role is key to unlocking new foundation, corporate, and government funding opportunities — including the resources needed to open Redemption House.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government programs aligned with our mission
- Write and prepare compelling grant applications, letters of intent, and proposals
- Gather and organize supporting documentation (program outcomes, budgets, organizational information)
- Track application deadlines, submission requirements, and reporting obligations
- Collaborate with leadership to align funding requests with organizational goals and current needs
- Follow up on submitted applications and assist with any required grant reporting
Qualifications:
- Experience in grant writing, nonprofit fundraising, or a related field (nonprofit experience a plus)
- Strong writing skills with the ability to tell a compelling, mission-driven story
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Comfortable researching funding opportunities independently
- A heart for Armor Up's mission of restoring hope to women in recovery
Time Commitment:
Flexible — this is a volunteer role designed to work around your schedule, with periodic check-ins with leadership.
