Connect the Dots Learning Academy has officially launched its microschool in Lake Mary, expanding its educational services with a small-group learning model designed for learners from toddler through fifth grade.
The microschool welcomed its inaugural cohort on August 17 and intentionally serves no more than 10 learners, with a maximum 1:5 ratio. The small-group model allows learning experiences to be responsive to each child's strengths, developmental needs, academic readiness, and individual learning journey while maintaining opportunities for collaboration and community.
Central to the microschool is a foundational belief: Every Learner Can. Every learner can grow, develop confidence, make meaningful progress, and experience success when provided with the right environment, relationships, opportunities, and support. Rather than expecting every child to learn in the same way or on the same timeline, the microschool recognizes learner variability as an important part of the educational experience.
"Our vision was never simply to create a smaller version of a traditional school," said Anita Anthony-Stoutt, Founder and Chief Learning Strategist of Connect the Dots Learning Academy. "We wanted to create an environment rooted in the belief that every learner can. When children are known, challenged, supported, and given meaningful opportunities to discover how they learn best, education becomes an experience that can cultivate confidence, curiosity, character, and lifelong growth."
The microschool experience extends beyond traditional academics. Learners engage in literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, STEM exploration, character development, executive functioning, movement, creative experiences, life skills, project-based learning, and community learning experiences. Hands-on opportunities encourage learners to question, create, experiment, problem-solve, collaborate, and apply their learning in meaningful ways.
The microschool combines the benefits of a connected, mixed-age learning community with developmentally appropriate instruction. Learners come together for shared experiences that foster relationships, collaboration, and community, while academic instruction is organized into age-based learning pods. Within those pods, instruction can be further personalized based on each learner’s readiness, strengths, and areas for growth.
The launch comes as families continue to explore educational options beyond a one-size-fits-all model. Smaller learning environments, personalized instruction, meaningful family partnerships, and support for the whole learner are becoming increasingly important considerations for families navigating today's educational ecosystem.
For Connect the Dots Learning Academy, the microschool represents an expansion of a broader commitment to personalized education. The company also provides personalized tutoring, homeschool support, test prep, learning space design, and professional development for educators, creating multiple pathways to support learners, families, and educators throughout Central Florida.
Enrollment for the 2026–2027 microschool year is currently available as space permits.
