Math Learning Specialist

Engage the Brain is looking for a Math Learning Specialist enthusiastic about teaching mathematics to join our team of passionate educators. As a learning specialist, you will provide individualized instruction to students with diverse learning needs and abilities. You will also collaborate with other specialists and teachers to ensure the best outcomes for our students.

Responsibilities:
- Assess students' academic strengths and weaknesses and design personalized learning plans
- Implement evidence-based interventions and strategies to help students achieve their academic goals
- Monitor and document students' progress and adjust instruction as needed
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other specialists
- Participate in professional development and team meetings

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in education, special education, or a related field
- Experience working with students with all types of learning abilities, including those with social/emotional challenges
- Training and experience in teaching mathematics through grade 8 or higher using an explicit, cognitively guided, and using a multisensory approach.
- Availability to grow your schedule to work a minimum of 10 hours per week, including two afternoons per week (4:00 pm - 6:00 pm)
-Ability to work in person at our office in Maitland, Florida, nearby schools, students' homes, and possibly virtually through Zoom
- Organized, reliable, and flexible
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive and supportive attitude

Preferred:
- Ability to teach math, science, and other content areas, such as reading and writing
- Ability to support students needing support with executive functioning

About the position:
- Employee (w-2) position with opportunity for Paid Time Off, Holiday Pay, Professional Development opportunities, and Simple IRA company contribution
- Hourly pay based on experience, starting at $32/student contact hour, with an opportunity for growth
- Must be available for a minimum of 20 hours per week. Schedules need time to build. Must be available at least 2 afternoons (3:00 PM - 6:00 PM) per week.
